Broccolini with Ginger + Garlic

  • 8 ounce Broccolini also called baby Broccoli
  • 1 Tbls olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves smashed + chopped
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tsp lemon zest grated
  • S + P


  • Cut your broccolini into 1 to 2 inch pieces. Keeping the thick stems separate from the tops. *Blanch the broccolini in salted boiling water, starting with the thick stems. Cook them for only about a minute then add the tops. As soon as the water returns to a boil remove both and plunge them into ice cold water to stop cooking process. Drain. Heat oil in a small frying pan , add ginger and garlic sauté 30 seconds, add broccolini and stir around until heated through. Season w/ salt and pepper and top off with your lemon zest. What could be easier ?
    *Blanch is to par cook food in salted boiling water.
